being in a wheelchair
I really don't think people understand being in a wheelchair. I'm not saying I think people are dumb, I just think they don't know. And don't even think about it. 1- In the winter you try and explain why you can't go out. and I have to go into detail because they don't think about it. Why I can't go out much in the winter: 1-It's cold out.
we can't walk or move around to keep warm. so we are colder to begin with. 2- The snow and ice. When it snows, we can't go out at all, usually. you are thinking just go on the sidewalk . I have heard that before. but when it snow and they plow the streets, were do the put the snow? on the side of the road and at times it goes on sidewalks. And right now I'm in main. a lot of the towns don't have sidewalks. and when they plow, there is no were to go except into the street. and it's icy and snowing, I'm not going into the street. the car's are sliding without me out there. 3- If there is ice we slide too. and have a lot of trouble. so with snow and ice, it's just real bad. So the next time a person says they can't come, or get out. now you might understand more.
and yes I am in a wheelchair. |
